The moment you step foot on to the land of Madinah, an overwhelming feeling of joy and happiness overtakes your emotional state. It’s the first time you visited Prophet Muhammad ﷺ at the Holy Sanctuary in Madinah Tul Munawarah – The Prophet’s Mosque. The feeling of joy and happiness continues, now in the form of tears and smiles.
Time has gone by and you sit remembering this moment in your local Mosque. Remember the first glance at the Green Dome. An intense feeling of love between you and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was as though all your worries and problems had disappeared. You felt this desire to go and climb on to the roof top and hug the Green Dome, as though you were to hug Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Remember the moment you walked towards the gates, to enter the Holy Sanctuary. With every step, reciting Darood and Salam. Tears rolling down your face, in awe of this great meeting! And as you walked inline, in the ever growing queue – a thought entered your mind; “how did I end up here?” Upon reflection, you realised, “I am from the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.”
The Golden Gates were before your eyes – You conveyed your Salam; “As-salaamu `alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh” (O Prophet! Allah’s peace, blessings and grace be upon You). Your head hung in humility before the Best of Mankind. And as you walked away, you wondered around The Prophet’s Mosque – thinking and contemplating about the original Mosque, build by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and His Companions. Every brick laid with a mission!
The Prophet ﷺ said, “A faithful believer to a faithful believer is like the bricks of a wall, enforcing each other.” While (saying that) the Prophet ﷺ clasped his hands, by interlacing his fingers. (Sahih Al Bukhari)
It is this inspiration that led us in building the Islamic Centre of Britain. Every faithful believer will be like a brick of the walls, cemented together in strength. And just as Prophet Muhammad ﷺ laid the bricks, we can too, by donating bricks towards this grand project for the whole of humanity.
