Be a Catalyst for Change: Transforming Generations
As (UK) Muslims we love our religion, our culture, and making positive contributions to the communities around us. But we face difficult issues that we can no longer shy away from.
Muslims make up 6.4% of the UK population yet sadly
The Muslim prison population is 17%
We are one of the poorest demographics in the UK
Far less of our young people achieve a higher education as compared to other minority groups
Living in deprived communities, our youth can sometimes end up feeling trapped and disillusioned, which can result in increased issues surrounding mental health.
Barriers to entry in the job market contribute to raised unemployment figures and an increase in crime in our neighbourhoods. It’s time to tackle these challenges head on by working together to transform and elevate communities.
Welcome to the Islamic Centre of Britain.
An iconic, 6 storey feat of modern architecture in Birmingham, that will be so much more than a mosque (masjid). A centre of learning that will embody the ideals and principles advocated for by our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). A space where young people will be given the tools to aspire to greatness, our elderly will be looked after and those curious to learn, can build their knowledge taught by the very best.
Our Muslim community has the capacity to make tremendous contributions to the world around us, and our goal is to ensure everyone is equipped with the skills and support needed to achieve this. The Islamic Centre of Britain will provide a space where individuals can truly excel in a way that benefits their families, communities and future generations to come, Insha’Allah.
